FAQs

Do we need experience with social deduction games?

1

Not at all. Town Square Mysteries is designed to be beginner-friendly. I’ll explain everything your group needs to know before the game begins, answer questions as they come up, and keep the experience moving so no one has to study rules ahead of time.

More experienced players will still have plenty of room to strategize, bluff, and get creative — but nobody needs prior experience to have a good time.

What kinds of events do you host?

2

Town Square Mysteries is a great fit for corporate team-building, company offsites, birthday parties, private gatherings, and other group events looking for something more interactive than a traditional activity.

Because every group is different, I can tailor the experience around your group’s size, setting, comfort level, and goals, and help you choose the format that fits best.

How many people can play?

3

Different experiences work best with different group sizes. Tell me approximately how many people you’re expecting, and I’ll recommend an option that fits your group and gives everyone a chance to participate. Most groups have 6–20 players, but there are options for larger groups and for players who may not be able to participate for the entire event.

How long does an event last?

4

Event length depends on the experience, group size, and your schedule. During planning, I’ll help you choose an option that fits comfortably into the time you have available without making the event feel rushed. Most events run about three hours.

Where can you host an event?

5

Town Square Mysteries can come to your office, meeting space, private event venue, or another suitable gathering place. I currently serve groups across the Colorado Front Range, and I’ll work with you ahead of time to make sure the space is a good fit for the experience you choose.

What do we need to provide?

6

Mostly, just the people and the space. I’ll bring the game materials and handle the rules explanation, setup, pacing, storytelling, and moderation.

Depending on the experience, we may need things like seating, tables, or enough room for the group to gather comfortably. I’ll go over any specific setup needs with you ahead of time so there are no surprises.

Can the person organizing the event play too?

7

Absolutely. One of the benefits of a hosted experience is that the organizer doesn’t have to spend the event explaining rules, managing materials, or keeping everything on track.

I’ll handle the game so you can actually join your group, play along, and enjoy the experience with everyone else.

What happens after I submit the Start Planning form?

8

I’ll review the details you send and follow up with you to learn a little more about your group, event, and what you’re hoping for. Together, we’ll choose an experience that fits, and I’ll provide a clear quote.

Submitting the form doesn’t commit you to a booking. Once we’ve agreed on the details, a 25% deposit is required to reserve your event date. The remaining balance is due 7 days before your event.

Is this appropriate for a corporate team-building event?

9

Yes. Town Square Mysteries is built around communication, collaboration, observation, and group interaction — all while keeping the experience fun and low-pressure.

Depending on your team and goals, I can help choose a format that encourages people to work together, think creatively, and interact with coworkers in a way that feels very different from a typical meeting or team activity.

If you’d like, I can also include a post-activity debrief that connects what happened during the game back to how your team communicates, collaborates, solves problems, or makes decisions in their day-to-day work.

Which games do you offer?

10

Available games and experiences will depend on your group size, setting, and event goals. I’m currently finalizing the lineup of published games that Town Square Mysteries will be able to offer for paid events.

When you reach out, tell me a little about your group and what kind of experience you’re looking for, and I can walk you through the options that are currently available.

What does an event cost?

Events are quoted as a complete hosted experience rather than priced per person. Your quote depends on the event format, group size, duration, location, and any additional options you’d like to include. Any applicable travel charges will be included in your quote before you book.

There’s no pressure to have everything figured out before reaching out—I can help you narrow down the best fit.

What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

12

I understand that plans change. Please reach out as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule.

Rescheduling requests made at least 14 days before your event can be moved to an available date at no additional charge. Requests made with less notice are handled case by case and may involve an additional fee.

If you cancel at least 14 days before your event, your deposit remains available as a credit toward a future event booked within 6 months of the original event date. The deposit is not refundable, and unused credit expires after that period. Later cancellations may also result in forfeiture of other payments, as outlined in the full policy.

If Town Square Mysteries must cancel, you can choose a full refund or a no-cost reschedule. The full Payment, Cancellation, and Satisfaction Policy will be provided before your booking is finalized.

How far in advance should I book?

13

The earlier you reach out, the better — especially for larger groups, weekends, or events with a specific date in mind. That said, availability can vary, so it’s always worth checking even if your event is coming up soon.

Reaching out early also gives us more time to choose the right experience and make sure everything is set up smoothly for your group.

Do you travel outside the Colorado Front Range?

14

Possibly. Town Square Mysteries primarily serves the Colorado Front Range, but I’m happy to talk through events outside that area depending on the location, date, and scope of the event.

Additional travel costs may apply, and I’ll make those clear before anything is booked.

What ages are these experiences best for?

15

Town Square Mysteries experiences are generally best suited for teens and adults who are comfortable with strategy, bluffing, discussion, and social deduction. Some games or formats may be a better fit for certain age groups than others, so let me know who will be attending and I can help recommend an appropriate experience.

What if someone in our group is shy or doesn’t usually like games?

16

That’s completely okay. These experiences are designed to give people different ways to participate, whether they’re naturally outgoing or prefer to observe, listen, and jump in when they’re ready.

I’ll help set expectations at the beginning, keep the group moving, and make sure nobody feels like they have to perform or be “good at games” to take part.
